Responsibilities
- Operate
various types of vehicles, including vans, box trucks, pickup trucks and
straight trucks.
- Navigate
designated routes to deliver goods to clients or designated locations.
- Load
and unload products using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts
when necessary.
- Tarp
and strap loads to ensure compliance
- Perform
routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and
compliance.
- Communicate
effectively with our transportation manager regarding delivery schedules,
route changes, and any issues encountered during transit.
- Maintain
accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and
delivery confirmations.
- Adhere
to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Requirements
- Valid
driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience
in route driving is preferred.
- Ability
to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Familiarity
with loading and unloading procedures using pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Ability
to manage time effectively.
- Excellent
communication skills for interaction with customers and peers.
- Ability
to lift heavy items as needed during loading/unloading processes.
- Being
flexible and available as needed for our customer's needs, we value
someone who is willing to go the extra mile
- Availability on nights and weekends as needed

Volland Electric was founded in 1943 by Alexander T. Volland, as an electric motor and transformer repair shop on Ellicott St. in Buffalo, NY. In 1946, the company’s growth forced a move to 1511 Niagara St, which is still in operation today. Mr. Volland remained active in the business, until his death in 1975. In 1991, Volland Electric built a brand new state-of-the-art facility at its present location, 75 Innsbruck Dr., Buffalo, NY. Further growth then precipitated a major expansion of the new facility in 1997. Since the turn of the millenium, Volland Electric has acquired several other companies in the interest of diversification, to better meet the needs of their customers.
