The Patient Service Coordinator:
Manages patient reports, orders, billing code
information via H.I.S., L.I.S. and directs and responds to telephone requests
for patient care.
- Sorts and distributes reports to
designated departments, physicians and offices.
- Photocopies reports and other documents
for patient records, laboratory administration, policies, procedures and
education.
- Maintains diagnostic and billing code
information; obtains missing information from ordering physicians.
- Answers the phone and intercom.
- Manually bills charges through the
H.I.S., as needed.
- Provides backup for laboratory secretary.
- Call/fax lab results to ordering nursing
station, office or physician.

EXPERIENCE: Familiarity with customer service methods,
telephone etiquette, fax machine, lab terminology, knowledge of basic
mathematics, use of calculator, typing/keyboard skills. Marketing experience
preferred.

REQUIREMENTS: Associates
in Health Information Management or Medical Administrative Assistant OR 5 yrs.
