- Equipment Operator I monitors operation of pump stations and responds to any report of malfunction to restore operation.
- Monitors condition of pump station facilities and equipment; performs preventive maintenance and reports any malfunctions or required maintenance.
- Repairs or replaces any malfunctioning component or equipment in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Equipment Operator I cleans and maintains facilities and areas such as picking up trash and cutting bushes and grass.
- Equipment Operator I maintains logs and records documenting maintenance activities. Performs routine office tasks and other related duties as assigned.
This position is deemed an Alpha position so you must have the ability to work in any emergency situations due to weather or operational issues. Must be available inclement weather, mandatory standby duty, and overtime as needed.
Position requires a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within 1 year of hire and is subject to Random Drug/Alcohol Testing. Some night work may also be required.
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
